Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (37.5 hours per week, including a 1-hour lunch break)
Salary Details: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, commensurate with experience

Job Description
Summary
The Accounts Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our client. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of credit control and reconciliations, who is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring efficient processing of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform complex bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Accounts Payable:
- Manage accounts payable processes, including insurer and partner invoice verification, coding, and payment processing.
- Maintain relationships with insurers and partners, addressing payment enquiries as they arise.
Accounts Receivable & Credit Control:
- Assist with accounts receivable functions, including invoice generation, client communications, and payment tracking.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and coordinate collection efforts.
- Implement strong credit control processes to manage client payments efficiently.
- Chase clients and insurers for payments outside standard credit terms.
Premium Finance:
- Process instalment facilities with premium finance providers.
- Ensure compliance with financing terms and assist clients with finance-related queries.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct peer quality checks on documentation and files to minimise errors and ensure accuracy.
- Implement continuous improvement measures to enhance efficiency.
Other Duties:
- Undertake additional tasks as required by the evolving needs of the business and as directed by the line manager.
Experience, Qualifications, and Personal Attributes
Essential:
- Proven experience in credit control and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial record keeping.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to ethical financial practices and compliance with industry standards.
